Accountability

No one gets it all right all the time. And no one succeeds without giving it their best shot. Everyone is accountable for their actions in life. But accountability isn’t an accusation, it’s an asset because it shows initiative.

Everyone makes mistakes somewhere along the line – we all do, it’s part of life. But we learn and then we prosper from mistakes by quickly acknowledging that something has gone wrong and asking for help and advice.

You are in control but you are not alone. You’ve got a great support network around you, so make the most of it. You enjoy what you do so be proud of it as well. If you’re accountable for everything you do (the good and the not so good!) you’ll earn respect and recognition. And recognition earns reward. Go from avoidance to accountability. Back yourself, own the initiatives you take and deliver on the promises that you make. You’ll be supported by the people around you. We are all here to help one another.

Collaboration

We cannot succeed if we don’t collaborate. Everyone working together makes it better for every one of us.

It’s sometimes only natural to concentrate on your part of the puzzle and not the big picture. Of course everyone has specific targets. But if you only consider what happens in your world silo, you won’t appreciate the rest of the world around you. For us, everyone’s efforts are linked together. The greater the support we offer each other, the greater our combined achievements.

Try not to concentrate solely on your immediate work domain. Look at what others do as part of that big picture. Share your experiences with everyone. The more information we all share, the stronger the working relationships we develop. You’ll discover better ways to get things done.

To begin with, respect yourself – what we all do and how we do it really matters. Acknowledge their talents, efforts and achievements. But also have the courage to raise concerns and to discuss them. In turn people around you will respect and then support you.

It’s a people thing. And a company’s biggest asset is its people. That’s not a “the cheque is in the mail” throwaway – it’s true. Developing professionally is not only good for the individual, it’s good business sense for everyone. Everyone loves recognition. That’s what support is all about – looking out for one another then celebrating the best we can do.

Execution

Avoid being reactive and take the “rock solid” actions. You’ll identify the priorities and establish the way to do things to achieve what you aim for. Take the controls, take the initiative, and lead the way.
